Brick floated the idea about a book club during the infancy of the board, and he's been grumbling about the idea in IRC for a couple of weeks now... so who'd be in if he organized one?

I do not grumble, I grouse.

So, yeah... who's in?  It'll be fair and balanced... meaning there'd be a list of participants, I'd be first, and then we follow the list.

...

WHO'S IN?!

I might be able to participate, depending on my completely undependable schedule.  So I guess consider me a side member as well.

One thing we could do is to a movie club/ongoing internet film festival.  Easier on everyone's time, but then again, reading IS fundamental, so...

I guess we'll start in November- picking order to be decided next week.  In the interest of fairness, you side members get to pick books too, I suppose.  Smiley

I suggest a couple of rules before we go ahead with this:

1) Nothing so obscure that it can't be found at the public library, because I'm not going to buy anything obscure unless it's something I really want to own;
2) Reasonable time lines so everyone has a chance to at least put a dent in it;
3) We actually talk about the books and try to do so intelligently.

That's just assuming we're doing this book club style.  Obviously, if it's just a movie thing then the first two don't really apply.

I'm so totally out.

I hate you all, think the majority of you are semi-literate neanderthals, AND I refuse to read books with pictures in them!

HAH!

...also, I never learned how to read.  Cry
