Tales From The Metro #1

Posted on September 8th, 2009 in Brick Prior, Miscellaneous, Tales From The Metro by Brick Prior

Some people don’t drive; I am one of them.  Can I drive?  Last time I checked, yes- I just can’t do so legally.  Due to this, I have to rely on a little thing called “public transportation”.

These are just a few of my experiences.

They are nothing like yours.

How To Not Go Crazy In A Sling

Posted on September 27th, 2008 in Kenzan, Miscellaneous by Sasha Kenzan

On August 18, I went out of work due to a buildup of injuries to my right shoulder, and on August 26, I underwent a two and a half hour procedure to repair the injuries.  As a result, I have spent the better part of a month and a half in my apartment, in a sling, bored out of my mind.  So how have I survived without building up an urge to strangle passersby?  Here’s how I did it, and you can too!

The Broken Circle of Defication

Posted on February 17th, 2008 in Axel Night, Miscellaneous by Axel Night

Onward with the history of man, this lesson comes from a past article I wrote once upon a late night.  If I had morals, I’d feel bad giving you recycled content.  What?  Don’t look at me like that.  You’ve never read it.  I’m doing you a favor.

A Small List of Things J.D. Kenzan Does Not Understand

Posted on February 1st, 2008 in Kenzan, Miscellaneous by Sasha Kenzan

Not everybody knows everything. This is a cold reality of the life we lead, that in spite of our constant hunger for knowledge, we will never know everything. However, knowing something doesn’t necessarily mean you understand it. I’d like to think that I am a knowledgeable sort, but there’s a few things in life I simply don’t understand. If you’d like to read some of them, venture below the jump and see if you can help me out.

The Public Bus – An Invention of Suffering

Posted on January 16th, 2008 in Axel Night, Miscellaneous by Axel Night

Day after day, I ride the bus to work.  It’s a necessary evil.  I don’t live far from work, but too far to walk.  Cars are expensive, and pointless when I live so close to my basic necessities.  I also believe that my attempt at reducing emissions is one tiny step closer to stopping Al Gore from talking.  But no solution is consequence free.  Travel with me to the jungle on wheels.  Crickey!

The Anime Industry Is In Trouble?

Posted on October 30th, 2007 in Kenzan, Miscellaneous by Sasha Kenzan

For those of you who keep close track of the anime industry, you’ll know that there seems to be a bit of a panic afoot, especially after the recent withdrawal from the North American market of Geneon, a home distribution powerhouse with several of the genre’s most popular titles under it’s wing. This was after a deal fell through that would have seen Geneon syncing up with fellow powerhouse ADV Films for distribution of their content. This has sent several into a frenzy, trying to figure out the root of the issue, and some may have found a scapegoat: fansubbing.

Mid-Week Comics Rant Mash-Up

Posted on October 10th, 2007 in Brick Prior, Miscellaneous by Brick Prior

DISCLAIMER: The following rant for and sometimes against comic books (and for one time only, anything else that doesn’t involve comics) has been rated MA for Mature Audiences only.

Due to the fact that Brick Prior loses control of his use of profanity, morals, and derogatory expressions concerning new number one issues of existing properties and stupid entertainment properties in general, reader discretion is advised.

Imagine that you are attacked by pirates and ninjas at the same time! There is no gas in your chainsaw, and you’re all out of shotgun shells- what do you do? You hop in your DeLorean, head back in time, and wipe out the pirates and the ninjas before they can come to power! A job well done, right? NO! You’ve returned to the present and… what’s this on the horizon?!

PSYCHOTIC PAPER CUTTING HIPPIES!

I’m Brick Prior and this has been my mission for the past three days. If I don’t survive, I’m going to need you to take up my sword and shield… but who, you ask, is worthy?

No one!

I will survive, in fact, I have because I’m currently writing this right now! It’s good timing too, because this is a special Mid-Week Comics Mash-Up!

Uh, What? – Brick vs. Glamping

Posted on August 21st, 2007 in Brick Prior, Miscellaneous by Brick Prior

Greetings. I am not Space Ghost, I am Brick. It’s Tuesday. I’ve been playing Super Metroid all day; it’s been a blast. This inagural installment of "Uh, What?" is brought to you by this article about "glamping":

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-glamping19aug19,0,1779817.story?coll=la-home-center

"Glamping" is not when you are glomped by a mutant artichoke who can only go "Aaaaaaaaaaaaah", it’s "glamourous camping".

Glamourous. Camping.

Feel free to inform yourselves, and come on back for some good ol’ pondering behind the jump.

Personal responsibility is for suckers

Posted on August 8th, 2007 in Kenzan, Miscellaneous by Sasha Kenzan

I’m sure this is a topic that you’ve seen come up many times, but it’s really beginning to trouble me. Why exactly can’t anyone take responsibility for their own decisions anymore, and why exactly do so many need to have their hand held through decision-making? I’ve been to several R-rated films over the last few months and had to watch as some poor child screamed and sobbed during scenes of violence, leading some parent to chew out an usher because there weren’t any labels about the film containing any "extreme" violence… except that, if this parent did her research, she would find that not only are movies rated, but now they have a description at the bottom of the rating as to why the film got such a rating. I ask this: is this really necessary?
