Any thoughts on Apple announcing that anyone who bought an iPhone prior to the price drop gets $100 in Apple Store credit? I have a few; who does Apple think they are fooling, and how are so many people falling victim to it?
Personally, I’m amazed that someone hasn’t brought up the clever ruse here (unless I missed a few dozen blogs…). Steve Jobs acts as if he cares about the Apple consumer, but in reality, he’s just pushing more Apple products on early adopters who really should’ve known better. It’s not like anyone’s getting their money back, but now they can "buy" more shiny stuff. Or maybe they’ll do what I assume Apple wants you to do, and that’s turn the credit into spending more cash towards more expensive Apple products, such as an iMac.
Genius… pretend like you care about the customer after you just bent them over the table. Not only that, but customers really need to learn not to buy every new Apple product as soon as it comes out, especially because Apple is becoming infamous for releasing new technology at a "premium" price, then a year later releasing a newer product with better specs at a cheaper price point.
In short, wake up. Just because someone gives you a reacharound once in a while doesn’t mean you’re still not getting screwed.
